Today has been relaxing, got some things done and then some. Yesterday was my birthday and I spent it with my lovely boyfriend Iain :) We enjoyed the sunshine together and then he took me out for dinner where I got to try sushi and proper Japanese food for the first time. I was absolutely delicious! Definitely not what I had expected at all. I tried everything that was offered to me and I appreciated the new flavors and textures in their own ways. We then came home to enjoy some wine and then dozed off as Iain had to work really early, as usual. All in all, a good 23rd birthday :)
On the friday, we went out with all of our friends and celebrated with some drinks and good times. Definitely a fun filled night which I remember at least the first half of haha. In the morning, we all went to our usual place, Al and Jan's, where we enjoyed some breakfast and more good times together.
Oh ya, today I had to deal with Koodo. All in all they are a good company but their online self serve is so stupid! I changed my bill back in Jan to save money and it ended up costing me so much more in the long run. I talked with a supervisor (after being transferred 3 times) and he did what he could. The last person I talked to back in feb said that everything could be credited back to me, but apparently not. ugh! so bloody irritating. I almost don't even want a cell phone anymore. Life is friggin' expensive!! OK. End rant. At least now I am working towards paying everything I can off and doing everything necessary to do so.
I also found a website that is selling the music program, Finale, that I want soo badly. It's half the price (regularly $600 CA)! So that made me quite happy to find :)
Keeping it short and simple. Cheers.

So it's been a little while since I posted last, Sorry! (to whoever reads this lol) It's only been a week or so and not too much has happened. Almost all of the snow has melted and the weather has been crazy! It's almost like summer here! Aside from the mosquito's coming back, I am definitely enjoying this :)
St. Patrick's Day just passed and I had such a great time! I went out with a bunch of my closest friends and naturally we predrank before hitting up the bars down town. I ACTUALLY drank green beer for the first time this year, and ya, it tastes the same but it's the thought that counts right? So we started off the night at our usual spot, Brewery bay, and after getting quite pished, we migrated to Moe's quickly, then The Brownstone to say hi to a couple of other friends and then we landed at Studabakers and danced the rest of our evening away. Then for our drunken comfort food, we stopped in at Pita Pit and all got a bite :) Overall, a definite success! Couldn't ask for a better time!
Now I need to decide what to do for my birthday in 5 days! Probably go for drinks with the gang. We shall see! Birthdays have never really been a big thing for me, well not since I was a kid and since last year. There's about 4 of us who have birthdays in March in our group so we like to celebrate together. We always make the most of it and definitely have a great time together! :) Also, Iain (my bf) took me out for the most beautiful dinner ever last year, and needless to say, he made it one to remember, by far :)
Well, keeping this short enough as I'm ff to bed, must wake up early for work! Cheers!

Today was a BEAUTY of a day! Sooo happy to finally see some spring weather coming out this way :) Enjoyed having a lazy Sunday until I couldn't bear to sit still anymore lol I decided that today's the day to start getting myself in proper shape, maybe even in good enough shape to look awesome in a two piece! hahaha yea I can dream right??! So as I was getting ready, my little sister asked if she could tag along, which was awesome because we don't hangout as much due to me working and her still being in school. We went on a trail in the forest and had some laughs because it was sooo icy and I almost bailed a few times and she slipped once. I definitely saved her from completely landing on her butt lol We then moved to the road that I live on and just took it easy, jogged most of the street and then an hour and a half later, we decided to call it a day as the sun was starting to set. I am definitely looking forward to getting into a routine and hoping I can keep the motivation to bust it through thick and thin! I can do it :) And I'm going to eat reasonably better....perhaps with less hollandaise sauce...hahaha ya right!! Just less junk :) Well I'm off to have a girly evening with my little sis. We're going to make grilled cheeses and curl up to a movie or two tonight :) Oh how I love the simple things! Cheers :)

OMG! So last night I made such a delicious dinner! I worked all day, busted my butt cleaning EVERYTHING and realized I had forgotten my lunch, but all I wanted was hollandaise sauce. So after work, I stopped in at the grocery store and picked up some wild salmon and butter and then rushed home to make dinner. I cooked up the salmon in a pan and just before it was finished, I added a mixture of maple syrup, water and ground red chili's, while I waited for it to finish I made a beautiful hollandaise sauce with egg yolks, butter (lots of it), pepper, salt and lime juice. I served it on top of rice and it was so yummy! A hint of sweetness with the warmth of the red chili's wrapped under a blanket of savory buttery goodness! ah...how I wish there were left overs right now! haha
So I'm kind of disappointed with Georgian college, or I guess I should say the lack of people who are doing bartending. I was looking online at their programs and majority of the courses have been cancelled :( I am going to start looking into other schools and see what is offered. I want interesting courses, and who know's, maybe I'll find something that I didn't expect. I want to bring new ideas into drinks and learn new techniques. I hate that when I go into a bar and say surprise me, the bartenders either give me a look of fear or come back with something simplistic like a screwdriver or a tequila sunrise. I want to bring unique but delicious flavors to the table..so to speak..and make each drinking experience one to remember :) So the hunt begins for places to dip my toes!
Today I got called in to work so that's my plan for the evening. So glad to get a couple extra hours, definitely needed! Off to get ready, another day awaits! I will leave this cute inspirational video. It made me laugh. Thumbs up everybody! For rock and roll! Cheers!

Good evening! So I just got back from visiting Toronto and it was a blast! :) The first night was pretty laid back. Iain and I checked into our hotel and on our drive in, we noticed two pubs. There was the Queen's Head and King George's Arms. After dropping our bags off, we took a walk towards the pubs and noticed that Universal Studio's was right outside our hotel! Awesome! So we decided to go to The Queen's Head for some brews and I actually really liked it there. It was actually open on a Sunday night, the people weren't obnoxious, and the atmosphere was like a good pub should be. I had a Guinness, a whiskey sour, tequila sunrise, and a lounge lizzard and Iain enjoyed some keith's, sapporo, and glenfiddich on ice. Our waitress was pretty awesome too! We went back to the hotel and then fell asleep for our adventurous day two.
So day two was the food show. I didn't attend as I'm not a chef or person in the culinary business but Iain went with a couple of his fellow college friends and they enjoyed themselves. Apparently it wasn't as impressive as previous food shows but none the less, they all found things that they loved and definitely enjoyed catching up with each other. I toured around the area and picked up a couple things as well as got lost a couple of times! But nothing the GPS aka toots couldn't get me out of :) I found this hidden book store in the plaza I stopped in and it was awesome! They literally had books piled everywhere! I attacked their cook book section and found Iain this awesome book compiled of 25 of the best cook books and some of their recipes and I found a couple of music books for myself! So excited to read and play from them! The end of the day was a little rough because with me not having my cell phone, we didn't have a proper way of communicating other than Face Book and so I ended up waiting at the food show until 7pm not knowing that Iain didn't receive my messages and had gotten a ride back to the hotel with his friends back when they ended around 4:30pm! Definitely not his fault, but I got flustered and upset worrying about where he was and trying to dig through the city traffic and he was so worried that something had happened to me as he heard about accidents on the highway that I was on. I made it back to the hotel safely where Iain came running out to give me a huge hug. I love him so much! :) So after all of the hullabaloo, we all enjoyed dinner and a couple of drinks at the restaurant in the hotel. I got to meet Iain's culinary friends, caught up with a good friend of ours and unwound! I had the maple glazed salmon with mash and sautéd spinach which was absolutely delicious! The fish was perfect :) Iain also surprised me with a drink shaker that he had picked up from the show for me, I am definitely going to use that! After everyone left, Iain and I attacked the vending machine for some snacks and curled up to watch the movie Arthur with Russel Brand in it. Definitely enjoyed it!
Today, Iain and I hit up Queen street and China town. We found some amazing stores! Our first stop was the dark horse, and it was an espresso bar where Iain got an Americano and I got my Chai Latte :) Delish! So we continued on trekking around and checked out all of the little stores around and we came across this amazing cheese boutique! There was cheese, meats, sauces, oils and so on. It was cozy and we tried this delicious brie cheese and picked some up to take home, I forget what it was called, but Iain will know lol We also bought our lunch there and it was fantastic! Iain got a blue cheese and grilled pears sandwich and I got a guyere and paprika salami sandwich, both were put into a grill press. I'm drooling just thinking about them! We continued our venture and stopped into a few more stores, found this one that had the most hilarious items in there, I will have to post the pictures once I upload them onto my computer but I definitely want to go back! The store Iain wanted to go to is a place called Knives but for some odd reason, they are closed on Tuesdays. So we went on and made it to China town. We went into a couple of shops where I bought the cutest good luck kitty piggy bank ever! Again, I will have to post pictures lol but I've been wanting one forever! So happy I have one now :) Iain and I also went into a super market there and it was CRAZY!!! So many people!! but we did however find some pretty interesting ingredients and I'm really excited to see what Iain comes up with as dishes :) Oh question! Does anyone know what black fungus is used for?? We found some there and picked a bit up and Iain I'm sure will find a use for it, but maybe someone reading this can tell me? Comment! :) ohh and I do have a picture above similar to what I bought today! So I got this scarf and it is sooo soft, but it has mittens attached to it! They're paws with claws! lol It's a burgundy colour with little snow flakes here and there and black claws and red pads on the under side. They're really warm and pretty darn cute! :) Definitely made my day! But, I am off to relax for the evening! Hope you enjoyed reading my blerb :) Cheers!

I can't believe that it's already March!!! I'm not entirely sure where February went to but needless to say, I am sooo excited for spring to come! I have a list of water falls that I want to check out in the area and top on the list so far is Eugenia Falls. It seems pretty close and it looks beautiful! I've been to Walters falls and Inglis falls and oh, of course Niagara falls but there's a bunch there that I didn't even know existed! I'll take lots of pictures as I get to see them all and I will definitely post them and share my experiences at each place! There are a couple major falls that I would love to see around the world, but one day...one day :) As for now, I'll just stick to the treasures around here and as I can afford it, I will travel everywhere! Top on my list right now is Ireland. It's such a beautiful place and I become more and more home sick for it (even though I've never been there :P). But I guarantee I will be there sooner than you know it, we'll just see if I come back ;)
Today however, I have the day off and I'm spending it playing my saxophone and perhaps a little guitar. I'm also going to be organizing my mountain of stuff and hopefully creating a proper bedroom out of it! My cats seem to enjoy exploring and falling asleep in it though so they might be a little upset :P
Oh before I go, I must say that I'm pretty excited to see that people are actually reading my blogs! I've noticed people not only from Canada but from the US, Germany, and Russia! YAY! Helloo out there! Please comment :)
Well, off to enjoy my day of cleaning and music...oh yay! Cheers!

Happy Leap Year To whoever reads this thing! lol So I'm wondering how many tourists Ireland's going to have today. I heard that on Leap Year, if a woman proposes to a man it is illegal for him to say no. I'd imagine that's probably not true but I can still see how many lonely hearts would believe it to be so. I say good luck! haha
I came across this video last night and it's of this beautiful young lady who lost her mother to suicide and yet she's still smiling and made this video to reach out to anyone struggling with suicide. Definitely watch it, made me tear up, so be prepared! My Secrets Video << That's the link there.
Today we have a lovely snow storm and by lovely I mean this snow can bugger off ANY TIME NOW! lol I am looking forward to spring and summer adventures so no more of this back and forth from warm and cold stuff. I had planned to go for a run this evening with Iain but I think that's not going to be happening, we probably wouldn't be able to see where we were going. So for today, I will continue to unpack and sort out my room, clean and practice some guitar. I'm in the midst of learning "Set fire to the rain" by Adele. Really liking it so far. She is so talented and her songs are beautiful. Now that I'm ranting about it, I think I'm going to bring out the saxophone today as well :) I just love music! Comment if you have any interesting stories, or maybe if you're a fellow musician yourself. Would love to hear some stories from whoever is reading this....hello? :)

Yesterday was a good day :) Very productive at work. Wifey and I busted it hard and reorganized some of the store, did some cleaning and brainstorming AND got the hose on the vacuum to work lol Damn thing was baffling us all for quite sometime! It's an old school dirt devil so I think that's enough said lol After work I ran to the apartment and grabbed some clothes as my dad invited Iain and I over for dinner. It was delish to say the least! We had beer butt chicken, ribs, my dad's secret potatoes and some Keith's and 3 different kinds of wine. I was just what I needed. So we all caught up and had some laughs before Iain and I went off to bed seeing as he had to be at work for 5:45 this morning! It was an early and rudely cold wake up outside but we managed :) Now today I'm going to be attacking my old room here at my parents house to prepare it for moving my stuff back in the next couple of days. It should be good though. I'm going to sort through the old things I have here and get rid of a lot of it! I mean, I don't use remotely half of it so I should just donate what I can and get rid of the rest. Blah, I dislike moving but it's going to help out a lot right now :) Well, off to start the battle! Wish me luck! :)

Today was all in all a good day! Worked hard even though it was sooooo dead! Did a lot of inventory check because we're having a final sale on a few things. Kept me fairly busy and got to engrave my first pocket watch :) I nailed it! hehe After work I went and played pool with one of my closest friends and then 2 hours later we came back to my apartment and made the most epic KD ever!! |

Mildly interesting day today :) Worked today until 5 and had a blast with my wifey when she got there. We just cracked up laughing for most of our shift seeing as the mall is soooo dead lately. We talked about everything from planning an epic St. Patrick's day party with epic green drinks (cliché yes but shuush) to this "nipple nibler" stuff that apparently is also a lip plumping balm too? I won't go into detail but it was a funny topic non the less lol After work, I met up with a bunch of my close friends and we just laughed and enjoyed our Tim Horton's together :) Never a dull moment with our group! Since then I have been playing music and teaching myself the song "Behind Blue Eyes" originally by The Who but covered by Limp Biskit. It's a really pretty song and I'm not doing too bad at it so far :) OMG! So today during my break, I was walking through the mall with the wifey and we found this awesome picture of saxophone theory and scales with an awesome artsy picture of a sax player in the background. I am definitely saving for that next pay check! I know, I am kind of a geek that way but uhhhhh I am excited :) Well, keeping it short, off to bed for tonight :) Fare thee well!
