Happy Leap Year To whoever reads this thing! lol So I'm wondering how many tourists Ireland's going to have today. I heard that on Leap Year, if a woman proposes to a man it is illegal for him to say no. I'd imagine that's probably not true but I can still see how many lonely hearts would believe it to be so. I say good luck! haha
I came across this video last night and it's of this beautiful young lady who lost her mother to suicide and yet she's still smiling and made this video to reach out to anyone struggling with suicide. Definitely watch it, made me tear up, so be prepared! My Secrets Video << That's the link there.
Today we have a lovely snow storm and by lovely I mean this snow can bugger off ANY TIME NOW! lol I am looking forward to spring and summer adventures so no more of this back and forth from warm and cold stuff. I had planned to go for a run this evening with Iain but I think that's not going to be happening, we probably wouldn't be able to see where we were going. So for today, I will continue to unpack and sort out my room, clean and practice some guitar. I'm in the midst of learning "Set fire to the rain" by Adele. Really liking it so far. She is so talented and her songs are beautiful. Now that I'm ranting about it, I think I'm going to bring out the saxophone today as well :) I just love music! Comment if you have any interesting stories, or maybe if you're a fellow musician yourself. Would love to hear some stories from whoever is reading this....hello? :)

Yesterday was a good day :) Very productive at work. Wifey and I busted it hard and reorganized some of the store, did some cleaning and brainstorming AND got the hose on the vacuum to work lol Damn thing was baffling us all for quite sometime! It's an old school dirt devil so I think that's enough said lol After work I ran to the apartment and grabbed some clothes as my dad invited Iain and I over for dinner. It was delish to say the least! We had beer butt chicken, ribs, my dad's secret potatoes and some Keith's and 3 different kinds of wine.  I was just what I needed. So we all caught up and had some laughs before Iain and I went off to bed seeing as he had to be at work for 5:45 this morning! It was an early and rudely cold wake up outside but we managed :) Now today I'm going to be attacking my old room here at my parents house to prepare it for moving my stuff back in the next couple of days. It should be good though. I'm going to sort through the old things I have here and get rid of a lot of it! I mean, I don't use remotely half of it so I should just donate what I can and get rid of the rest. Blah, I dislike moving but it's going to help out a lot right now :) Well, off to start the battle! Wish me luck! :)

Today was all in all a good day! Worked hard even though it was sooooo dead! Did a lot of inventory check because we're having a final sale on a few things. Kept me fairly busy and got to engrave my first pocket watch :) I nailed it! hehe After work I went and played pool with one of my closest friends and then 2 hours later we came back to my apartment and made the most epic KD ever!!

KD...You will NEVER be the same!

This may sound gross but we put kraft dinner, mild sausages cut up, one hard boiled egg, a touch of ketchup and lemon pepper and mixed it all together. It was AWESOME! Don't knock it until you try it, I swear, you'll never eat plain KD ever again! :P So I'm still in the process of packing everything up and boy does my room look like a tornado hit it. I'm glad to move in a way because I'll be able to start saving and paying things off better but I am going to miss being out on my own and living with the roommates that I have here. They're pretty much awesome :) One step at a time. Things are slowly but surely working out. Well, off to bed for now. G'nite to whoever's out there reading this :)

Mildly interesting day today :) Worked today until 5 and had a blast with my wifey when she got there. We just cracked up laughing for most of our shift seeing as the mall is soooo dead lately. We talked about everything from planning an epic St. Patrick's day party with epic green drinks (cliché yes but shuush) to this "nipple nibler" stuff that apparently is also a lip plumping balm too? I won't go into detail but it was a funny topic non the less lol After work, I met up with a bunch of my close friends and we just laughed and enjoyed our Tim Horton's together :) Never a dull moment with our group! Since then I have been playing music and teaching myself  the song "Behind Blue Eyes" originally by The Who but covered by Limp Biskit. It's a really pretty song and I'm not doing too bad at it so far :) OMG! So today during my break, I was walking through the mall with the wifey and we found this awesome picture of saxophone theory and scales with an awesome artsy picture of a sax player in the background. I am definitely saving for that next pay check! I know, I am kind of a geek that way but uhhhhh I am excited :) Well, keeping it short, off to bed for tonight :) Fare thee well!

Beautiful!
Yay! Survived another day! Haha well today was pretty easy going. I worked for most of it so far and it went rather well. I had a lot of practice on the engraver today and all in all wasn't too stressful :) While I was working I was flipping through my cocktail book and found some awesome drinks. I can't wait to start making them! I really want to try making layered shots and drinks as they look awesome! Although I'd have to practice and see what works together, I'm still excited for the challenge. What I'm not so excited for is moving again. I am in the process of packing and organizing everything again....so...many...boxes....way..too...much...STUFF!!! Eventually I will get there :) So out of randomness from today's conversations with people, to anyone reading this, what is your view on flirty vs friendly? I have my own distinction between the two and have also heard many others, but to whom ever may read my blogs, comment and share your views :) Well, tis late. I must wake up and open the store tomorrow morning. G'nite!!

Tuesday 21 February 2012

This long weekend was one of the best so far! Spent a lot of time with dear friends and my better half Iain :) We intended to go to Niagara but due to work and time restraints, we decided to save it for another time. I am just going to have to wait to get back to the Scottish Loft a wee bit longer :P So Saturday evening I got together with my main group of friends and we enjoyed some food and drinks at our typical hangout spot called Brewery Bay. It was nothing but good laughs and more memories to be held on to. Sunday, Iain came into town and we made a last minute party with our group of friends. And when I say party I mean more of an evening full of games, swimming, catching up, background music and well of course some spirits :) Iain and I made a quick stop at Brewery Bay for some grub and a couple pints and then enjoyed our evening with friends.  Monday, we went out to this awesome diner called Al and Jan's and had some awesome comfort food after a night of drinks. Iain and I explored the town afterwards and checked out all of the neat little shops down town. I fell in love with this adorable parrot but unfortunately, I have enough pets of my own. We then met up with one of our friends for dinner at Montana's and then we watched the new Ghost Rider movie. I actually really enjoyed it. Nicolas Cage is still a terrible actor but the movie itself was pretty good. Today Iain and I had a pretty relaxing day, we toured around more shops, where I picked up a book called, 1001 Cocktails. I want to learn more about drinks and making them to hopefully put my Smartserve licence to good use! We went to Tre Sorelle's for lunch today. It's one of my favorite places in town. It is simple, homemade, and just amazing Italian food. The prices are great and the environment is wonderful :) We also ended up going back to Brewery Bay after for some deep fried caramel banana cheesecake for dessert. So after all of that was said and done, we brought my car to the shop....again...because it wasn't running right. They got it in right away and fixed it in no time and then Iain and I went and got some groceries and then I dropped him off at his place where he's going to make some amazing dinner for his family with his dad. I have yet to decide what I am going to make but I'll figure something out :P Well, I think that's good for a catch up. My computer charger is messed up so I will do my best to write as often as my battery will let me. Until next time!! Cheers :)

Friday 17 February 2012

Today is another day. Slowly figuring things out. Trying to find a balance between work, friends, loved ones and keeping my head on straight isn't as easy as it should be, but as is life. Teaching you to work hard and pick yourself back up. My main focus today is to straighten a few kinks out and to do what I haven't been doing lately...BREATH! I need to sit back and look at what's important and I think setting little goals is going to help me out a lot. I need to put a reasonable time frame on the things going on right now and take baby steps to achieve them. I might end up distancing myself from a lot of people but I think it would give me a clearer look at things. Well, enough of the heavy!! I'm excited for Sunday to get here! I have plans to make my way back down to the Niagara area for a couple days. It's been since October since I've lived there. It's going to be weird and maybe hard seeing everything again, but I am hoping to make some new memories there for the time spent down there :) I'm going to keep it short for today but will continue to keep whoever is reading this posted :)

My handsome Max Cat <3
So today is day 1 of my now publicly crazy life. Welcome and good luck to ya! :) It's been a relatively easy going day so far. I woke up to my Max cat sleeping beside me, so naturally I had to take a picture of him. Now I'm planning out my job/car/bill/apartment situation! These past few weeks have been kind of crazy. My car went into the shop twice and broke down once and needed a tow....$200 later for the tow truck and then $1400 after the repairs (2 visits) I started to give up hope. I'm currently renting an apartment for $450 a month, which all in all, isn't bad. But when you're only working part time hours, makes things super hard! So what I'm thinking, is moving back in with the parents for only $300 a month, keep the now fully functional car, keep my job in town and apply for a second job back at the resort I used to work at, also known as boomerang hotel seeing as everyone always ends up going back! That way I can save some cash, pay off my bills and get back on my feet again. I am hoping that this plan works out! So enough about that rant for now lol I mentioned in my description that I am an aspiring musician :) I play the bass, the saxophone and am trying to teach myself guitar (so hard!). I'm hoping to one day teach music either doing private lessons, teaching in a school, or perhaps both :) My main instrument is the alto saxophone, I just love the beauty of the instrument. It's so versatile and sexy! I love to play jazz but am recently toying around with some popular songs and just having fun with it. I'm trying to crack down and practice more often, as I have let it slide with the distractions of life. I have been looking into a few schools and so far my top two are Humber College in Toronto and Trinity College in Dublin Ireland. Humber has a great music program and it would benefit me well. However, I really want to travel to Ireland and explore there so why not make a learning experience out of it and go do schooling there? So far it's just an idea, going to be doing more research about it and seeing what it would take. Well I think that's enough for today, time to do some laundry and then off to see what the rest of the day holds! :)
